My Card

My Card is a Business Card article published in the Bolton News each week.  “It’s a great way to get your company name and what it does into the paper for free” says editor Wes Wright.

Well for those of you who didn’t buy Monday nights Bolton News (shame on you!) here’s what it said:-

What was your first job?
I started my first job when I was at school, working weekends and school holidays on Bolton Fish-market.  Although my first real job was as an Articled Clerk working at Kevan Pilling & Co Chartered Accountants.

Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why?
Arnold Schwarzenegger, for making some great films over the years like Terminator and Predator to name but a few.

What are your hobbies?
My children take up a lot of my time, but whenever possible I like to get out and walk in Snowdonia and the Lake District. I also play the piano a bit.

What is your top time-saving tip?
Don’t switch on the computer, plan your day and stick to your plan.

What is your favourite thing about Bolton and why?
Bolton Wanderers – for the immense pleasure and pain they’ve given me over the many years I’ve supported them.

Which past event has most influenced your life and why?
Getting married and having children brought focus and meaning to my life.

What is the one piece of advice you would pass on to/have passed on to your children?
Work hard, do the best you can, enjoy what you are doing and have respect for others.

What is your typical day?
Dealing with correspondence, checking the status of the projects I’m working on, planning my pipeline of work, client contact, business development, administration and keeping on top of technology that’s taking over our lives.

How would you describe yourself?
I enjoy challenges and dealing with complex technical issues that I can think through and solve.  My wife tells me I’m not the most organised, but I think we’ll agree to differ on that one.  I’m honest, reliable and professional, determined to offer the highest levels of service and satisfaction in any work I do.

So hopefully that’s cleared up what I do!
